DESCRIPTION:MFF Founders Retreat\nThis unique experience is open to all MI-based\, high-growth founders seeking leadership growth opportunities\, a safe forum to share and discuss real business challenges and goals amongst a group of like-minded peers\, and a way to build meaningful connections and a long-lasting support network to lean on throughout your startup journey. \nThis is an all-inclusive experience at a private B&B on Lake Michigan designed specifically for founders. We will accept 10-12 founders into the June 2024 cohort. For those who apply and are invited to attend\, the retreat will be $500 with a 50% discount for MFF Members. \n*A limited number of financial scholarships will be available to accepted applicants to support their participation in the program. \nGoals of the Founders Retreat: \n\nBuild meaningful relationships and camaraderie\nShare experiences and networks – learn from and with others\nBecome invested in each other’s success\nEnhance leadership skills to take the company to the next level\nEstablish the connection between business culture\, success and community\n\nParticipants are required to be present at all retreat activities\, which will take place from Wednesday\, June 12 at noon through Friday\, June 14 at noon. \nRetreat Activities Include: \n\nGroup breakfasts\, lunches and dinners\nA series of 3-4 business and culture workshops over the course of the retreat – led by a professional facilitator and MFF\nTime for founder case studies – exchange and discussion\nOptional exercise/workout activities (such as yoga on the beach) and a group lake activity or vineyard tour\nFree time to explore the local area and enjoy the beach\n\nRetreat attendees will also meet periodically for the subsequent 12 months as a cohort\, to continue fellowship with peers and provide space for continued exchange and support. \nApplication process \nTo apply\, please complete the application below. SUMMARY:MFF Pitch Competition at the Sports\, Tech\, and Venture Summit
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Sports\, Tech\, and Venture Summit\, up to 7 Michigan-based startup founders may be accepted to compete for a chance to win $10\,000 in non-dilutive funding! This industry agnostic pitch competition and the broader summit are great opportunities to connect with potential funders that can be great resources for Michigan’s founders. \nThe pitch application window has passed. Selected pitch contestants will be notified the week of 4/15 – 4/19.  \nELIGIBILITY: \n\nMust be headquartered or have significant base of operations in the state of Michigan.\nMust have an established\, full-time founding team\, and must be a founder or co-founder.\nPreference will be given to companies with products in market and generating ARR.\nCommitted to growing the business/team in the state of Michigan (does not exclude also growing out of state).\nCompanies who have already raised $2 million or more in funding (excluding state or federal grants) are not eligible.\nPast winners (recipients of prize funding) of MFF-hosted Pitch Competitions are not eligible.\n\nTIMELINE:\nAPPLICATIONS Open Now through 11:59 PM ET on Saturday\, April 13th\, 2024.\nNow through April 16th: a selection committee will review the online applications and select up to 7 companies who will be invited to participate in the competition.\nApril 17th: all accepted founders/companies will be notified and provided details about the competition activities.\nApril 19th: SAVE THE DATE for a 3pm virtual kick-off call for accepted applicants to meet one another and learn more about what to expect leading up to the competition.‍\nApril 25th: Pitch Competition to be held at 1pm during the Sports\, Tech\, and Venture Summit in Detroit (6001 Cass Ave\, Detroit\, MI 48202\, USA). \nPitch Format: 4 minutes to pitch\, with 2 mins Q&A.\n‍\nPitches will be evaluated on: \n\nBusiness model and scalability\nMarket fit and competitive advantage\nTeam and execution capability\nCommunity impact
